MAYOR TJ’s Priorities For Morrisville

TRANSPORTATION & MOBILITY

In Morrisville, traffic from all directions leads to the congestion we experience today. I will continue to invest in roadway improvements that mitigate congestion: new roads, road widening and intersection improvements; but also alternative forms of mobility such as buses, commuter rail and bicycle and pedestrian amenities.

PARKS & RECREATION

I continue to promote connecting our greenway and sidewalk networks so that everyone can walk or ride their bikes safely, anywhere in Morrisville. I advocated for the bond referendum for the Morrisville Aquatics and Fitness Center, resulting in a new pool, lighted tennis courts and state-of-the-art fitness equipment.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Public safety is of utmost importance to our residents, businesses and visitors. I continue to support fully funding requests from our Police and Fire Rescue Departments, including increasing staff in our most recent budget. I endorse our current efforts to improve fire and rescue response and community policing to enhance public safety.

MANAGING GROWTH

Morrisville will continue to attract new residents, and our residents insist that our infrastructure — especially roads and schools — must be improved. I encouraged a well-balanced housing inventory to meet the needs of current and future residents and I opposed broad increases in density that would increase traffic and overcrowd schools.
