SCHOOLS
Our Wake County Public School System is one of the best in the nation. Wake Tech Community College has received many accolades and the newly opened Wake Tech RTP Morrisville Campus is an asset to our region. Although Wake County, not Morrisville, governs these institutions, our elected leaders must work with the Wake County Board of Education.
As your Mayor, I have forged collaborative relationships with WCPSS and Wake Tech to ensure that Morrisville students have the opportunity for a great public education. I am excited that this collaboration has led to plans for a new combination middle/high school near Parkside Elementary and an Early College High School at Wake Tech RTP Morrisville campus.
I support the Morrisville Public Education Advocacy Committee, which enables Morrisville families to highlight what is important to them — such as nearby schools and a safe, nurturing environment for our children.
I believe in the public school system. I am an engaged parent of three children who attended WCPSS. I have volunteered in our schools by reading in classrooms, organizing field days and participating in extracurricular activities. I currently participate in both the Panther Creek and Green Hope High School Business Alliances and I enjoy actively supporting our next generation.
